“Sometimes folk need more.”
This simple phrase—“Sometimes folk need more”—from Toni Morrison's novel Paradise speaks to my return journey to visual art. After many years in graduate school and navigating a professional career creative work reclaimed me when I needed more. Now, I write about art more than I create it, but I am intentional about incorporating it into my everyday life.
